Travel is broadening.

To get out of the Bart station you need to insert your ticket in the same
way you do to get in. The ticket taker, tech support person was very
polite about explaining this to me but it was obvious that she could not
imagine a place where you didn't need a ticket to leave the station. It is
good to be exposed to the difference between "obvious" and "customary".

I had a brief, light conversation with a woman from Costa Rica (sp?).
Moving the lab is now slightly more possible in the next 10 years.

People here are way over dressed for the weather.

So far so good, I promise to smooze instead of providing minute by minute
updates.
