The only way the the meeting could have gone better would have been if
there had been beer, snacks and foot messages.
Guessing the meeting would be a bit about using IT Dept resources. I
prepared a 1 page breakout of resources used by University groups vs
community groups:
http://thecsl.org/sys/uml_relations.d/csl_uml_factoids.pdf
Results of the meeting were:
We have an official university connection with Paul Marion
We will have 24 hour access to the building.
We will try to keep the university websites we host
looking like the official university stuff.
Selected happy moments:
Tom Costello saying I was one of the top 3 unix guys on campus.
Diana Prideaux-Brune saying she knew about http://mvhub.com
John Wooding saying I was a funny guy.
Happy quotes
JW: "This isn't the Spanish Inquisition"
DPB: "We don't want to get in your way at all"
JW: "Of course I would write letters of support."
JT: "No, I don't have any concerns"
DPB: "Since you are providing services, we can
easily justify not charging you rent."
DM: "This is like some kind of anti-Spanish Inquisition,
this is great."
DM: "I'm going back to school January 2008, I swear to
you, my mom and Howie Goodell"
Dramatic moments:
Twice, John Wooding asked approximately:
"So why do these university groups use you instead of
official university stuff."
The first time I answered:
"Well, we have relationships with a lot of the groups,
already. For example, I've known Felicia Sullivan almost
10 years. Also because we're so small, we're sometimes a
little bit quicker."
The second time, I answered:
"It might be better to ask those groups, I can't really
speak for them."
Attending: Diana Prideaux-Brune (DPB), me, Eric Bryant, Jeff Thompson
(JT), John Wooding (JW), Tom Costello (TC)
