committee favors very specific stuff, equipment in particular. Also it
is desirable to allow people to partially meet our request instead of
denying it.

These are what I think of as compelling needs that are somewhat matched
to our needs:

We are a bit cramped and number of people is growing.

Much of our workstations date from 2000,

Our furniture is old and un-ergometric.

Hassle to boot into windoze for Internet Exploder testing

To the space thing we can ask for:

Shelving to run around the room above desks
	for computers, hubs, cables

	flat screen monitors

To the ergometric thing:

	7 new chairs
7 new workstations w/ adjustable height keyboard trays.

Hassle to reboot to windoze:

	a $1000 workstation to run VMware & various OSes/browsers
--can be shared by everyone in the room w/ ssh -X or remote
	desktop.

David Kronberg and I are playing phone tag about mvhub (he initiated the
call) so other stuff might be fundable and the temptation is to consdier
the existing good enough.

However the existing empirical research [*] says that salary, experience
and education are all less strongly
