OK Folks. I made a mistake at our May board meeting when we renewed the
terms of board members. I mistakenly thought my term ended in 2007, but
it really ends Feb. 2008. I don't think we need to do anything. At the
annual meeting in February 2008, I simply stand for re-election.
Also, point of clarification: Fred indicated that he did not want to
continue after the November board meeting. I was under the impression
that his term ended in Feb. 2008. In fact, Fred's term ends Feb. 2009.
That doesn't mean Fred can't leave, it just means he needs to formally
resign.
Information that may clarify board directors' terms of service.
Board directors may serve up to 3 consecutive 2-year terms. Directors
whose term begins midterm, finish the first year and then one more full
year and then are up for re-election. Ex. Muriel was elected in May
2007. Her term is completed in February 2009.
Officers' terms are for 1-year. President and Vice President may serve
up to 4 1-year terms. Clerk and Treasurer may serve up to 6 1-year terms.
So, this is the status of the board right now:
Officers
President - Karen Zgoda (1st year)
Vice President - Fred Martin (2nd year)
Treasurer - Kristina Ickes (2nd year)
Secretary - Laura MacNeil (3rd year)
2006 to 2008 Term
Laura MacNeil (2nd term)
Charlotte Crockford (2nd term)
Melissa Carino (1st term)
Kristina Ickes (1st term)
Karen Zgoda (1st term)
2007 to 2009 Term
Josh Harding (2nd term)
Fred Martin (2nd term)
Muriel Parsighian (1st term)
I suggest that Professor Joseph's term to the board begin immediately.
(This is assuming that we vote him onto the board.) Otherwise, we will
have a very lopsided board in terms of when directors rotate on/off.
